Does Medicare cover a lift chair?
Plans typically cover the seat-lift mechanism only. The chair itself, the fabric and the recline function are your cost.
This surprises almost everyone. The part a plan pays toward is the motor that lifts the seat, not the armchair around it. Medicare works this way and most other plans follow the same logic, though the detail varies.
We separate the two on your quote so you can see exactly what your plan covers and what is yours, before you decide rather than when the bill arrives.
If you would rather skip the paperwork entirely, ask for the self-pay price. For a single item it is often simpler.
We check before you commit
Coverage depends on your plan and your physician's documentation. We verify it and tell you your cost before anything leaves our building.
