“Will insurance pay for this?”

It is the first question almost everyone asks, and it should have a straight answer. Here is how coverage actually works, what Medicare pays for, and what we do before we send you a bill.

What you can expect

You will know your cost before the equipment leaves our building.

Every quote we issue separates what your plan covers from what you pay. If we cannot get something authorized, we tell you the same day rather than shipping it and sorting it out later.

What happens after you call

  1. 01

    You call us

Tell us what happened and what you need. We do not need billing codes or model numbers. If you have a physician's order, great. If not, we will request it.

  2. 02

    We verify your benefits

We check your plan, your deductible status, and whether the item needs prior authorization, then come back to you with what we find.

  3. 03

You get the number in writing

Before anything ships, you receive your exact out-of-pocket cost. No estimates that move later.

  4. 04

    We deliver and bill

We handle the claim, the documentation and any follow-up with your plan. You deal with the equipment, not the paperwork.

Plans we bill directly

If your plan is not listed, call us anyway and we will check what your options are.

  • Medicare
  • Cigna
  • Curative

When insurance is not the answer

Self-pay is often faster, and sometimes cheaper.

For short-term needs, the authorization process can take longer than the recovery itself. Most bathroom safety and daily-living equipment is straightforward to buy or rent outright, with no paperwork and no wait.

  • No waiting on a plan to authorize
  • Fast local delivery on common items
  • Ask about renting first if the need is short term
  • Written price up front, no surprise balance billing

Coverage questions, answered

Does Medicare cover a hospital bed?

Yes, under Part B as durable medical equipment, when your physician documents the medical need for one at home. It is a capped-rental item, so Medicare pays monthly rather than buying it outright, and we handle that billing cycle for you.

Does Medicare cover a lift chair?

Medicare covers the seat-lift mechanism only. The chair itself, the fabric and the recline function are your cost. We separate the two on your quote so you can see exactly what is covered before you decide.

Does Medicare cover a wheelchair?

Manual wheelchairs are covered under Part B when a physician documents that you cannot move around your home safely without one. Power wheelchairs and scooters require a face-to-face examination and a detailed written order.

What is a capped rental item?

It is Medicare's way of paying for expensive equipment over time instead of all at once. You rent it, Medicare pays its share each month for 13 months of continuous use, and then ownership transfers to you at no extra cost.

What will I actually pay?

After your Part B deductible, Medicare generally pays 80% of the approved amount and you pay 20%. If you have a supplement or a supplement as secondary, that 20% is often covered too. We verify all of this before anything ships and give you the number in writing.

How long does authorization take?

It depends on the item and the plan. Straightforward items move quickly once we have the physician's order; power mobility and seating systems take longer because the documentation requirements are heavier. Call us and we will tell you what to expect for your item.

What if my claim is denied?

We tell you the same day, explain why, and either fix the documentation with your physician's office or quote you the self-pay price. We do not bill you for a denied claim you were never warned about.

This page explains coverage in general terms. It is not medical or billing advice, and your specific benefits depend on your plan and your physician's documentation. Call us and we will check your actual coverage.

Let us check your plan before you spend anything.

Have your insurance card handy and we will check what your plan covers.
